<description>Once again you supply a well written, enlightening piece. Consumer power and added value ideed. All for it!

Supermarkets have been adding value smartly for years. How do you get more money from the consumer for selling the same lettuce? By simply cutting it up for you so you don't have to and slipping it in a bag...for about twice the price of course!

Well I guess that books, music etc can't be done in the same way as the lettuce by Amazon, so it's all about reaching more customers in more varied ways, so rather than strictly adding value, they're simply allowing easier and easier access to more and more people. A process that has me, the customer, winning as well as them.

It's pleasing to now see competition driving imaginative idea's in order to make sure their product is the one we choose.

Nice.

Hmm...It's gotta be "New York, New York" as I blast my way through the new GTA4 right? Altogether now..."If I can make it there, I'll make it, (BANG, BANG), anywhere..."
